Spend some time planning . You may have one or more occupations in mind. You might want to look at a few different occupations and explore the outlook for those occupations. You can do this through Saskatchewan Job Futures.

If you are searching for program information beyond Saskatchewan, visit our information on Canada and/or International post-secondary institutions.

Do you need to need to upgrade or complete your grade 12 as part of the pre-requisites to the program you want to take? We have information on finishing high school and literacy training.

Another handy tool to get you started is the Exploring your Options Documents. The University of Regina has put together this handy gude. This guide will help you decide which undergraduate program is right for you. If you are undecided about your major or career path, this handy publication can help you choose a direction that is rewarding and meaningful. Follow the link above to the Counselling website, select Career/Education from the left hand index, and choose Exploring Your Options from the listing.

Finally you might want to look ahead to when you complete your post-secondary education and are ready for the work world. Saskatchewan has many regulated occupations that may require you to obtain a license or to register before you can practice. You can find contact information for these regulatory bodies at Work Destinations

If you have already completed some Post-Secondary education you might want to explore the possibilities that Credit Transfer offers. You can see exactly what you can transfer on the SaskCat web site, or check out your options with Recognized Prior Learning (RPL). Many of Saskatchewan's Post-Secondary Institutions offer some form of recognition for prior learning however that may occur. Visit the Recognizing Prior Learning webpage to learn more.
